Web Sched

Web Sched eServices, powered by Patient Viewer, allow patients to schedule appointments online. Each service has additional per month/per location fees. See Fees for Software, Support, Services.

  • Practices must be on support with a unique registration key to use Web Sched.
  • For a list of supported browsers, see Computer Requirements. Web Sched cannot be accessed on Windows Phones.

Web Sched Recall

Help your office manage recall reminders and appointment scheduling.

  1. When recall is due, a Web Sched Recall email and/or text reminder is automatically sent to the patient. *manual send also available
  2. Patient receives a reminder and clicks an appointment and patient-specific link to select an available appointment date and time. Patient can also choose to be notified if an earlier appointment becomes available (marks the appointment as ASAP).
  3. Scheduled appointments instantly show in Open Dental's appointment schedule.
  4. Optionally send the patient an automated notification with appointment details.

*Text recall reminders require Integrated Texting.

Web Sched New Patient

Allow new patients to schedule their first appointment online via your website.

  1. Open Dental will generate a hosted URL you can link to from your website.
  2. New patient/guardian clicks the link to open the Web Sched New Patient interface.
  3. If eligibility criteria is met*, patient/guardian can select an opening, enter basic contact information, and schedule the appointment.
  4. Scheduled appointments instantly show in Open Dental's appointment schedule and a new patient record is automatically created.
  5. Optionally send the patient an automated notification with appointment details.

*To be eligible, patients must be new and 18 years of age or older. You also have the option to allow parents/legal guardians to schedule on behalf of a minor child.

Web Sched ASAP

Easily notify patients on the ASAP List about last minute appointment openings and allow them to reschedule online.

  1. Staff notifies patients about available openings via Web Sched ASAP text and/or email messages.
  2. Patient receives the message(s). Each message includes a clickable, patient-specific link to a scheduling calendar that shows all available openings a patient has been notified of. Patients can accept an opening and reschedule online, or choose to decline.
  3. Rescheduled appointments instantly show in Open Dental's appointment schedule.
  4. Optionally send the patient an automated notification with appointment details.
