Apteryx XVWeb Deprecated Method

In 2019, there was an attempt made to integrate XVWeb into Open Dental, but that has been removed. Some offices may wish to use the unsupported integration, but this requires an old 2019 version of the Imaging Module that will not be updated. If using the old version by enabling Use old Imaging module interface, pre 2020 in Preferences, there are newer features that will not show. It is better to use the simple bridge described above.

To use the unsupported method, in the Apteryx XVWeb bridge setup (above), enter the following:

When enabled, Open Dental automatically retrieves images from XVWeb into the Chart Module, but does not automatically download them. Download images to store them in Open Dental. In the Chart Module, images show as downloaded thumbnails. Double-click them to download the full size image.

Apteryx XVWeb images cannot be edited or manipulated from the Imaging Module until manually imported into the database.

A user name and password is required the first time the bridge is launched. Open Dental sends the selected patient's birthdate (optional), chart number (if selected), gender (optional), name, and patient number to Apteryx XVWeb. If the patient does not exist in XVWeb a new patient record is created.

If an image is saved to Open Dental by copy/pasting or importing, it appears twice.
