Show Features  

One of the most popular requests is for a dental program that is easy for beginners in the front office to use. Open Dental is very powerful, and you can hide some of that complexity for new users. This is great for training or for offices that are less computer literate. After users learn the basics they can start to turn on the features that they need as they need them.

Medicaid
Turning on the Medicaid features will make the Medicaid ID field show in the Patient Edit window.  In the Procedure Edit window, it will also make the BillingType1 and BillingType2 fields show.  The BillingType fields can then be manually set per procedure in order to help flag certain procedures for inclusion in custom reports.  Finally, in the InsPlan window, it will make a checkbox show for Use Alternate Code.

Hospitals
If you turn on the Hospital features, you will see an additional option when you right click on the Progress Notes in the Chart module.  The option is to Print Day for Hospital.  When you use that option, only completed procedures will print.  Don't expect any other items to be printed.  It will include a photo of the patient, if available, as well as a signature line at the bottom for the staff to sign. The intent is for this printout to then go in the physical chart.
